FIJI – A Romantic Place to Travel
Fiji, an island country in the South Pacific Ocean which is about 2,000 km north-east of New Zealand’s North Island. It is an extensive group of islands of more than 330 islands. The total land area of Fiji is about 18,300 square kilometers.
There are more than 500 small islands, the farthest island is Ono-i-Lau. The two main islands are Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, which holds 87% of the total population.
Fiji is well known for rugged landscapes, palm-lined beaches and coral reefs with clear lagoons.
The capital city of Fiji is Suva, a port city with British colonial architecture. This city has lush parks, broad avenues, grand British colonial buildings. Port of Suva is the largest, busiest and biggest container and general Port that provide a maritime gateway to Suva.
Fijian dollar is the country’s currency. Tourist industry and Sugar exports are the main sources of foreign exchange. Fiji has one of the most developed economies in the Pacific due to an abundance of forest, mineral, and fish resources.
